You might also need to type or proofread documents from 'reader' softwares - documents that were scanned and automatically converted into a word document, but still needs human touch to ensure accuracy.
Lists and Databases
This is one of the more common options when it comes to data entry. You are going to encode scanned documents. Unlike transcription jobs, you do not need serious training. However, you have to be meticulous and accurate. You might work on list building for rebates or loyalty programs, as well as catalogue building. You might also be contacted from time to time to update a company's database information, so it would help if you did a terrific job the first time. This is a contract job and good references and submitting samples of your work is a major plus.
